I’ve always thought it was a bit premature to have people choose careers so early in life. At 20 most of us barely understand who we are, let alone how we might make our best contribution to society.

We probably all know folks who spent years and tens of thousands of dollars securing a degree to give them access to a specific profession, only to find they didn’t like it or weren’t actually cut out for it.  (This is one reason I’m a huge fan of internships.)

Or maybe like me you’ve got some friends who are out of work right now and are having to consider new career paths.  Or know others who hate their jobs but don’t know what else they could do.

So, I’m curious:  If you could pursue a different career right now- and education/training and opportunity weren’t an issue- what would you like to do and why?
